We are thrilled to announce that the production raised £2078 for our chosen charity which is Niamhs Next Step Onwards and upwards as we have lots of exciting things happening at Starlight Dance over the summer including our Senior & Principal Dancer's production 'DISTURBED' at the Lighthouse Theatre, a Fashion Show, summer performances, our Summer Academy, studio renovations and of course Starlight is off to DISNEYLAND PARIS!!!!!!! What can we say?! We are so proud of all our dancers that made CIRCUS our best production show to date! 2 Sell out Shows, 250+ Dancers, 4 Ponies, A message from girlband B*Witched and lots and lots....and lots of costumes!!!! we are all BUZZING what an amazing few days!! Thank you to all the staff at the Lighthouse Theatre for being such fantastic hosts. Thank you to all who helped backstage and made Circus possible. We are thrilled with the incredible feedback we have received. Munchkins, StarlightKIDS and Junior Dancers were all professional, fantastic and blew us all away! Thank you.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US! Wow what an amazing 4 years! To think this time 4 years ago 8 people came to an informal dance 'club' in a church hall......now we are one of the UKs largest independent Dance & Musical Theatre Schools with over 500 students training in a wide range of dance and theatre skills. We have had the most fantastic journey and our Starlight family has grown into something incredible! Looking back, our students have achieved so much! Thank you to everyone who is a part of our family and here's to the next wonderful, exciting and random 4 years!

SNOW CLOSURE! - 18/01/2013

Following the snow today and the general difficulties faced for our students getting into town and to classes, we have made the decision to cancel ALL classes Saturday 19th January. We never like to cancel classes and this we did not take this decision lightly. We remained open Friday evening however classes were severely depleted in numbers. Classes will reopen as normal on Monday with Acting Technique, Munchkins, Starlight Kids and DANCERCISE. We do not want you to waste this day and therefore we request that you enjoy the snow and make a Starlight themed snowman. Our new teacher Miss Emily will be teaching a FREE Disco Freestyle / Jazz workshop this Saturday at the studios to kick start our new classes DISCOGEMS which will launch in November. We are also very excited to welcome our next new teacher Miss Lauren Melchor to our faculty! Miss Lauren will be teaching Rhythmic Gymnastics!! Once again our students make us all so proud! We received an email today from DISNEYLAND Paris after sending an audition show reel, it said they were so impressed with Starlight that they would like to invite them to perform there at the theatre in which the Lion King is performed in 2013!!! Our Senior Dancers performed as the guest act at Wicksteed's Got Talent and were fantastic, well done guys! They have been invited to perform at the fire work night showcase in November! Two of our students, Lewis & Coreigh competed in the finals and they were both brilliant we were all very proud of them both! Coreigh was awarded the Wicksteed Trust Fund Award! Well our Academy students have worked so hard with our teachers to create a dance collaboration piece mixing their own choreography with that of our choreographers working on Modern, Hip Hop, Street, Ballet, Lyrical & Commercial Dance! The piece entitled 'I Wanna Dance!' will be performed at Kettering Market Place on Saturday 11th August 2012!! On top of putting this all together in just 5 days, the students also attended workshops in Musical Theatre, Break Dance, Tap and Vocal Training! What a busy and amazing week! Well done to everyone involved! We can't wait to perform it tomorrow!

In February this year we celebrated an outstanding result for our ISTD Tap & Modern examinations with 100% Merit & Distinction. Our celebrations continue this month with two of our students, Brhe Coupe & Shayna Tomes! Brhe passed her vocational intermediate ISTD Ballet exam and Shayna passed her Grade 1 LCM piano examination with a high merit! WELL DONE ladies! Last night four of our super talented Principal Dancers, Paige Brooks, Katie Harrison, Simeon Walker & Paige Farquhar performed as professional dancers in GAMES TIME in Delapre Park, Northampton as part of the official olympic celebrations. The dance show was outstanding and we are very proud of our dancers! Today was spent at the studio with our dedicated dancers in for rehearsals ready for the INTERNATIONAL FINALS of DANCE CHALLENGE next Sunday (15th!)after an outstanding result in the regionals in March!

In Studio A we have our Ballet mock examinations with Head of Technique Miss Claire, successful candidates will be put through for examination later on in the year following our incredible 100% Merit / Distinction Modern & Tap results earlier in the year. In Studio B we have our infant & junior show team vocal auditions for our production show 'Revolution' in October! Studio improvements underway!! Our new music room 'The Green Room' has been plastered and is now in process of being painted! Sprung flooring is being installed in August and complete repaint of studios. Each month we pick 3 dancers, one Senior, one Junior and one Infant and give them the title of 'Dancer of the Month' With over 400 students, this award is not an easy one to choose and the dancers awarded this title, like all our dancers, work very hard indeed! TALENTED AND GIFTED! - 14/05/2012

We are always so proud of all our students here at Starlight and in 'World Parade' our show team dancers blew us away with their talents but during the busy build up a few of our students have achieved some fantastic things! Our Musical Theatre Singing Stars Coreigh Brassington & Ellie Rowden both won first prize in talent competitions. Coreigh won Haven's Got Talent and Ellie came first place in the K-Factor. Two of our dancing stars also have great news! Taylor-May Coles and Charlie Hammond attended a workshop with Ballet Central and were picked from a large selection of dancers to attend their creative residency where they will perform with Ballet Central! Hard work, committment, dedication and talent! Something these 4 superstars all have!!! Well Done!

Classes started again tonight after a well deserved week off! Our 8th production show'World Parade' was absolutely outstanding. We were blown away by how amazing and professional our show team dancers were! We have received wonderful feedback and are delighted with how the production went. Not only have Starlight been asked for organise, host and run Kettering's BIG DANCE EVENT 2012 but we have been given a £30,000 grant to install Active-Sprung flooring throughout both of our studios! This is a fantastic result and we can't wait! We have worked very hard to provide our students with the best facilities and this will be a huge step to making our studios as professional and polished as our students!!!

Our Theatre Skills Department will be performing two fantastic plays this weekend! The first will be 'LADYBIRDS' performed by our Kingston Stage & Screen on Saturday 3rd March at 19:30 & Sunday 4th March at 18:30. This play inlcudes adult humour (Ages 14+) so if you want a giggle come along to see this hilarious play about an Am-Dram drama group who have lost all their men!! Our second production will 'BEAUTY IS A BEAST' performed by our Drama Club on Sunday 4th at 11:30 and 15:30. This light hearted story about inner beauty is a play for all the family! Yesterday 90+ of our dancers performed in their first West End show at Her Majesty's Theatre in London! What an amazing day! Our dancers were outstanding and we have had so much amazing feedback! We were overwhelmed by just how professional our dancers were from their rehearsals at 06:30 through to their incredible performances & finally getting home at 01:00!!

WELL DONE to our dancers today at the BGT audition! What a fantastic audition! Fingers crossed and we will find out the result in Feb. We all had a fantastic day at the NEC in Birmingham and the film crew loved Starlight and did lots of filming of our dancers all day!

FANTASTIC day in Starlight Land! First our Junior Dancers performed at the Regional Premiere of the new Alvin & The Chipmunks film and they were brilliant! Also today, our Junior Choir started their 'Residential Home Seasonal Tour' at The Old Victoria Residential Home in Weekley and performed to the residents who loved them! Such a warm welcome & the choir sounded beautiful! Well done everyone!

REVIEW SHOW TIME! 'NATIVITY' - 09/11/2011

It's that time of year again! Start wrapping up those Christmas gifts & get the chestnuts ready for roasting! Christmas is our favourite time of year here at Starlight & what better way to celebrate than with our Christmas Review Show! Our 3rd review show 'Nativity' will be held at our studio on Saturday 17th December 2011. Infants at 11:00 & 13:00 Juniors at 16:00 Tickets are £4 and on sale now through reception! This festive filled showcase will get everyone in the Christmas spirit with a special calender countdown of songs & dances performed by our fantastic students. We will also be telling the Christmas story & who knows, a special guest may pay us a visit...if he's not too busy of course (It is his busiest time of year!!)

EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT: Starlight started in Feb 2009 with 8 dancers in a church hall taking one commercial dance class a week....it then started to grow with the introduction of StarlightKIDS & Dancercise. In 2010 we launched our first Junior class: Beat Down Junior with just 12 dancers and we continued to get bigger & better! We now have our own studios in Kettering & are the towns biggest & only full time Dance & Musical Theatre School with over 300 students taking classes in Street, Commercial, Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Modern, Musical Theatre, Drama, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre, Flexercise, Dancercise, Vocal Training, Piano lessons and more! We now run over 25 classes a week! As we continue to grow & develop we have exciting news! In 2012 we will be opening 3 new schools in the county: Starlight Corby, Starlight Wellingborough & Starlight Rushden!! We are very excited & proud to be able to take this step & would like to thank everyone who supports us & of course of outstanding students!

On Saturday 20th August Starlight took part in Kettering Carnival for the first year and what a brilliant day! We not only won FIRST place in the 'Musical Theatre & Dance' Class but also won the biggest award 'BEST IN PARADE!' What a fantastic result! Our Senior & Junior Dancers then danced as guest performers at the Carnival Dance Party. But wait there's more.....On Sunday, our Senior Dancers got through to the finals of local talent show 'Wicksteeds Got Talent' WELL DONE .....what a great weekend! Now on to a busy week!!!!

Lots of exciting news! Firstly our studio is looking very different! After our production show 'SAY CHEESE' work began on turning our studio into TWO studios!!! We now have two fantastic spaces so we can offer our wonderful students twice as many super opportunities! Graded ISTD MODERN classes start this week! What an honour to be awarded the Kettering Coat of Arms in a frame by the Lady Mayor on stage. Such a special & brilliant show. Thank you to all who made it possible. Starting in September......''STARLIGHT REVIEWS'' a performed presentation every couple of months showing dancers work to families & friends. Each review will be around an hour long. This will also be used as casting process for big production shows!!!!! First 'Starlight Review' will be December 2010!!!!!
