About Us...

Starlight Dance is a Dance and Musical Theatre school established in February 2009. Starlight prides itself on producing professional shows, offering students endless opportunities & creating fully trained, professional dancers & performers.

Starlight offers a range of classes from graded ISTD Ballet, Tap & Modern to Commercial, Street, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre, Jazz, Lyrical and Drama. We have classes to suit all ages and abilities and we always welcome new members to our ever growing family.

Starlight was founded and is managed by professional Dancer/Choreographer Jacc Batch BA Hons who's passion and energy for dance is emulated in all his students.

After training at Starlight our dancers have been accepted at Millenium Dance, The Urdang Academy, The Italia Conti Academy, Midlands Academy of Dance, London College of Music, The Brit School, Laine Theatre Arts & various Dance, Musical Theatre & Drama courses at National Diploma & Degree level.

Patron: Ryan Jenkins

Celebrity Dancer & Choreographer Ryan was most recently seen in the top 20 of BBC So you think you can dance series 2. He has worked with Matthew Bourne, Arlene Philips, Peter Darling, Paul Roberts, Ashley Wadden and Javier de Fructos to name a few. He has worked in T.V, Film and theatre.
Fast becoming of one the UKs up coming choreographers for his ability to choreograph in varying styles, most recently Godspell with attendance of HRH Prince Edward, and currently working on the hit t.v show 'Don't stop believing'. Ryan has been head of Pas de duex at Stella mann college for 4 years, with guest teaching at Bird collge & the Urdange Academy. He has been a choreographer with the Irish based company Mt4uth for 4 years training and producing productions. We are honoured to have Ryan as our patron here at Starlight.


Principal/Director/Show Team Choreographer:
Jacc Batch BA(Hons) TBDAF

Jacc started performing at a young age and is a professionally trained Dancer & Singer. He graduated with a BA(Hons)in Dance & Musical Theatre from Cumbria Institute of The Arts in 2007 and has since worked as a professional Dancer & Singer both touring the UK & working abroad. Jacc has taught at various dance schools & performing arts centres around the UK.

Jacc founded Starlight Dance & Musical Theatre School in February 2009 and since then it has grown beyond expectation. "My passion in life was always Dance & Musical Theatre but since starting Starlight, I have a new passion: providing opportunities for talented young people. I was shocked at the lack of choices young performers in this area recieve and wanted to give these amazing performers a chance! I am so proud to see my team grow as performers & individuals"

Head of Theatre Skills: Gemma Gascoine BA(Hons)

Having had the opportunity to be involved in a number of productions across our county, Gemma realised her passion for drama and the theatre at an early age. After studying drama at advanced level, she then went on to achieve her BA(Hons) in Drama at Northampton university in 2007. Where her studies were focused on; acting styles and techniques, world theatre, stage management, improvisation and ensemble, theatre in education, drama therapy, contemporary and classical theatre. Throughout her classes at Starlight, Gemma looks to promote creativity and confidence in all of her students, whilst building valuable stage and social skills.




Head of Music: Vicki Becks

Vicki trained in Musical Theatre as a child & has been lead singer of a 12 piece soul & motown band for ten years, working with many artists & producers. Vicki has been a vocal coach for two years now & leads both our Starlight choirs.









Dance Teacher: Vanessa Burzynski BBO RTS

Claire has been dancing since she was 3 years old and trained at the Hammond School in Chester, studying RAD Ballet and ISTD Tap and Modern. She has taken all her exams up to and including Advanced 2 with the ISTD in all three genres. Claire attended Margaret Howard Theatre College in Bushey to acquire her Associate Teaching qualifications in ISTD Ballet, Tap and Modern and a National Diploma in Performing Arts. Claire also completed a 1-year professional engagement at Disneyland Paris where she performed in the parades and took many roles including Maleficent, the Wicked Fairy in Sleeping Beauty. Claire joined Starlight Dance in September 2010.





Dance Teacher: Emily Darling

Emily trained at the Italia Conti Academy in London and is highly trained in many types of dance.As our Disco, Jazz & Freestyle teacher Emily brings a fresh and fun approach to dance and choreography.








Dance Teacher: Rob Ross

Rob is highly trained in many types of dance but excels in break & Hip Hop. Rob teaches our Velocity classes and is a great inspiration to the dancers. Rob has been involved in many competitions and productions around the UK.

Music Teacher: Florence Whalley

Florence began playing the piano at a very young age & first performed at the McKinley Theatre aged 8. She has taken her exams through the LCM & often accompanies local singing groups.










Music Teacher: Jerome Becks

Jerome has been performing from a young age & is a talented musician. When not performing or teaching, Jerome writes & produces music and has written tracks for Universal Music's complilation series 'Clubland'.










Head of Front of House: Craig Fellows

Craig is responsible for our very busy reception area. Craig and his team welcome new starters whilst looking after our current members. Our Front of House team are always happy to help.








Administrative Assistant: Gina Cross












Administrative Assistant: Georgie Crotty

Georgie handles all of the admin & hospitality in our busy reception. Georgie is currently training at Starlight as a member of our Senior Show Team, her passion is Musical Theatre & she has performed many vocal solos in our production shows.









Administrative Assistant: Danni Cooper

Danni is currently one of our Senior & Principal Dancers. Danni's commitment & passion for dance along with her friendly & professional attitude makes her a perfect person to work at our reception!










Administrative Assistant: Lauren Bennett

Lauren is our Saturday Administrative Assistant & deals with the majority of our Ballet & Tap students. Lauren is currently a Senior Dancer at Starlight & has danced as part of our Principal Dance Troupe. Lauren is a keen vocalist & has performed many vocal solos in our production shows.









Administrative Assistant: Jess Kinchin

Jess is currently training at Starlight and has performed in many of our shows, events and competitions. Jess's bubbly and friendly personality shines through at all times.










Head Dance Assistant: Audrey Corben

Audrey currently trains at Starlight and dances in our Principal Dance Troupe. As Head Dance Assistant, Audrey assists in many of our infant classes whilst managing & training our team of Student Teachers.
